Salami Puff Pastry Pillows

Ingredients

  • 2-3 sheets puff pastry, defrosted (store-bought puff pastry can differ country to country, mine comes in thin ready-rolled layers)
  • 12 slices hot Hungarian salami or salami of your choice
  • mixed cheese - cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 210℃/410℉. Place baking sheet paper on baking trays.
  • Brush egg along the edges of one side of the pastry sheet.
  • Lay salami at the bottom of one end of the sheet, ensuring it goes right to the edges.
  • Cover with a good amount of mixed cheese.
  • Roll sheet upwards, and if necessary, add more egg wash at the end to secure.
  • Slice the rolled puff pastry sheet into eight sections and place on prepared baking trays. You can brush with a little more egg wash and top with more parmesan.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden.
