There’s not a lot to be said about this glorious painting of abundance – enjoy!
The form is Italian, a stornello, which I though appropriate for the Italian artist, Luca Forte, who was an innovator, introducing landscapes as backdrops for his still lifes. More of my ekphrastic poetry here. I don’t have a grape recipe (yet), only grapefruit, but I do enjoy wine.
Delivering Grapes to a Prospective Lover
Autumn harvest of topaz, turquoise, rubies,
you are water, sugar, sweetest of berries.
You grape abundance. Yet, you’re solitary.
Flesh firm like apples. Pink flush to golden skin.
Trellised, reclined, liquid lush, purple whim.
I pomegranate you my abundance within.
